[USED - rebuilt with new springs and trick factory alloy upper and lower pivot bolts - excellent condition with light markings to be found along the pulley cage plates consistent with nominal usage - there are also faint markings to the outer pivot arm along either side of the Simplex badge (...but you will have to tilt the derailleur "just so" to achieve the proper angle necessary to view these) - the spring action is nice and tight yet appropriately smooth - please note that the cable guide extension has been removed (...a not too uncommon modification from "back in the day") - weighing in at a modest 183 grams, the SLJ 5500 was the top of the line Simplex road racing oriented rear derailleur with respect to both function and durability from the time of its introduction in 1979 through at least 1984]
