Sachs - 1/2" x 3/32" (12.7 mm x 2.38 mm) narrow profile - nickel plated finish - bushingless design with inner floating link - slotted and chamfered plates - chrome hardened pins - model PC-80R : SRAM PowerLink connector ... [NOS/NIB - while this may be a more modern piece of equipment dating from the 1990’s (...albeit now out of production and getting ridiculously difficult to find in NOS state), it has a heritage drawn directly from the seminal Sedisport which was introduced to market back in 1978 (...with its ingenious and revolutionary "bushingless" design, the original Sedisport 4 D not only shifted smoother than anything else on the market, it was also 30 percent stronger and more durable, had 20 percent fewer moving parts, and weighed substantially less than any previous design using the same materials) - the PC-80R was Sachs absolute top of the line offering back then and it offered a profile consistent with a post 1978 vintage aesthetic - whereas it may have originally been designated for use with 8 speed drive trains, this chain will work just as well with 5, 6, and 7 speed platforms - given its extremely durable nickel silver plated finish and those distinctive slots in the outer plates of each link (...a feature that is unavailable with any contemporary SRAM offering), I have found this particular chain to be eminently suitable for use in conjunction with vintage bicycles that feature lots of "drillium". Please note, this chain comes complete with a SRAM PowerLink connector to facilitate its subsequent removal and reinstallation without need of specialized tools ... HOWEVER ... the chain itself may actually be installed with or without the provided PowerLink]
