Emile Daems (1963) - Front
During his 1962 season while riding for the G.S. Philco racing team, Emile Daems won at Milan - San Remo and finished a more than respectable thirteenth place in the general classification of the Tour de France, claiming in the process outright wins in stages 5 (Rouen - Rennes), 16 (Grenoble - Val d’Isère), and 18 (Chamonix - Lons le Saunier), as well as finishing second place in the points classification for the Maillot Vert behind Rudi Altig. Thereafter, Daems was recruited to ride for Peugeot-BP-Michelin where he would bring home yet another win at one of cycling’s monuments, the 1963 edition of the Paris-Roubaix.
