[While Crescent Pepita Professional model 320 bicycles originally came with venerable Campagnolo Record model 1037 pedals having alloy spindle housings with chromed steel cages, I chose instead to mount a pair of Barelli pedals because not only are they tré chic and contemporary to this bicycle (...the B-10 model seen here debuted at the 1975 Milan Bicycle and Motorcycle Show), but also because their platform design provides more versatility than a conventional quill shape with respect to riding about in street shoes (...i.e. modern "wide sole" style running shoes without benefit of proper cleats) which is something that will absolutely occur in the course of my using this bike. A conceptual copy of the revolutionary Lyotard model 23 Marcel Berthet of French origin, English made Barelli pedals were rather uncommon to find Stateside, regardless of model or configuration, owing to their being both expensive and limited relative to production and consequently distribution. Nevertheless, they were certainly on par with if not outright superior to their Campagnolo counterparts in terms of quality, and in the case of their later Supreme model having interchangeable stainless steel or aluminum alloy foot plates, generally considered to be one of the finest pedals available during the late 1970’s through early 1980’s. Other accoutrements in the form of those early style Christophe toe clips and Binda non-laminated straps having a printed logo would be correct as original with respect to a 1975 edition Crescent Pepita model 320.]
