HEADSET:
Campagnolo Record - threaded headset - 25 mm x 1 mm (25.4 TPI) French thread - hardened steel construction - chrome plated finish - 3/16" or 4.7625 mm ball bearings with SKF metal retainers (...40 count total at 20 each upper and lower) - post 1969 and pre 1972 with channel inset marked "BREV. CAMPAGNOLO ITALY BREV. CAMPAGNOLO ITALY" on upper bearing cup and "BREV. CAMPAGNOLO ITALY BREV. CAMPAGNOLO <C>" on lower bearing cup - 26.4 mm hardened steel crown race - post 1967 flattened hex top nut and "keyed" washer - model 1039 ... [Correct as original. While I elected to replace the headset in its entirety with a very lightly used version after discovering that the original had horribly pitted top and bottom head races as well as a badly worn crown race which, in aggregate, begot the dreaded "indexed" steering effect, I was VERY careful to match the original with respect to its particulars and details.]
