Gregor Braun (1977)

Having represented West Germany in the 1976 Olympics where he won a gold medal in the Men’s Individual Pursuit as well as yet another gold medal in the Men’s Team Pursuit, Gregor Braun was subsequently named German Sportsman of the Year in 1976. On the heels of those successes, he joined the ranks of the pro peloton in 1977 riding for the Peugeot-Esso-Michelin team.
