<------------------ SOLD ------------------> Ideale 2001 saddle - Black leather cover (NOS)
Ideale 2001 saddle - nylon plastic (Rislan or Nylon-11, a trademark product of the Rislan Corporation) shell - no foam padding - Black leather cover - steel frame and rails - post 1973 and pre 1980 "Selection Tricolore Course" or STC sticker - model 2001 ... [NOS - Black leather covering is in excellent condition with only two very small imperfections along the left rear (...I am being very picky here, but if you are obsessed with such things, I am of the belief that they can both be worked out with an ice cube and a careful bit of gentle pressure rubbing with the flat of one's thumb) - the decals are in a perfect, unblemished state - typical of these saddles, the frame rails have a sort of mottled finish that can be cleaned to a very nice state given a slight amount of time and effort, or one can simply ride / show this saddle "as is" - Ideale introduced its line of molded plastic saddles in late 1973, at which point they offered a model 2000 (...a Rislan nylon plastic saddle with steel rails), 2001 as seen here (...using the same Rislan base as the 2000 but with a kid glove leather covering), and the 2002 (...again, based upon a Rislan shell but having a thin layer of Latex foam padding underneath its leather cover) - eventually, Ideale would add the models 2003 (...a deluxe version of the 2002 having chrome plated rails) and 2004 (...again, similar to the 2002 excepting a thicker 15 mm layer of foam padding) to their lineup prior to the complete cessation of production in the mid 1980's]
