Peugeot-BP-Michelin team rider Tom Simpson is seen here approaching the Col de Moncheaux during the 1965 edition of the Paris-Roubaix. Rik van Looy riding for team Solo-Superia would win that day, his first title at a classic in three years, with Simpson finishing back in sixth place after making a valiant chase toward the end that was ultimately thwarted by a loosening pedal.
