1975 Mercier Service des Courses ---------- (Joop Zoetemelk)

This particular and potentially significant Mercier was advertised for sale on leboncoin (...something akin to a French version of craigslist) back in June of 2011. The seller was located outside of Lyon and the bicycle itself was purchased and procured on site (...i.e. it was not shipped to its new owner).

Was this example actually one of Joop Zoetemelk's former bikes? Good question - the answer to which most certainly begs for intriguing speculation. Perhaps it will make its presence more prominently and publicly known to the greater vintage collector community at some point in the near future (...at least one can only hope).
