Chain - 04
CHAIN:
Sedis - 1/2" x 3/32" (12.7 mm x 2.38 mm) narrow profile - "d'Or" or "Gold" finish - bushingless design with inner floating link - chamfered plates - Delta hardened pins - model Sedisport GT-7 (4 DEI-SO) : SRAM PowerLink connector ... [Upon its introduction in 1978, the Sedisport chain instantly rendered all of its competitors, predecessors, and contemporaries obsolete (...which is why it is difficult to find anything other than this type of chain in production even to this day). With its ingenious and revolutionary "bushingless" design, the original Sedisport 4 D not only shifted smoother than anything else on the market, it was also 30 percent stronger and more durable, had 20 percent fewer moving parts, and weighed substantially less than any previous design using the same materials. This happens to be a mid 1980’s vintage Sedisport 4 DEI-SO model of chain having a "d'Or" or "Gold" finish as opposed to the earlier and more traditional "Noire" or "Black" hue - a retro selection specifically made so as to better complement the aesthetic of the Maillard 700 Professional freewheel also slated for "display only" use on this bike. Under regular riding conditions, I will employ a SRAM model PC 68 having a durable nickel plated finish - a modern drive chain which is a direct descendent of the seminal Sedisport.]
