Regis Ovion (1973)

The first chase group behind a Bernard Thevenet led breakaway in the 1973 François le Championnat (...the French National Road Race Championship) consisted of Jean Claude Genty (BIC), Claude Tollet (Sonolor), and Cyrille Guimard (GAN-Mercier), closely followed by Regis Ovion (Peugeot-BP-Michelin). Upon crossing the finish line, however, it would be Ovion who placed second far behind Thevenet, followed by Tollet, Genty, and Guimard in that order.
