Brake Cable Clips
BRAKE CABLE CLIPS:
Simplex - top tube brake cable clips (3) - Simplex "starburst" logo - chrome plated steel - pre 1980 first edition with "long" machine screws and separate hex nuts - model 2111 ... [As seen here in their earliest configuration, these would be both original and proper with respect what would have been used on any PY-10 CP dating from 1974 through 1979 inclusive - and this would also hold true for those 1974 and 1975 Peugeot-BP-Michelin team bikes as well as 1976 through 1979 Peugeot-Esso-Michelin editions (...although once fitted, team mechanics routinely cut off any excess threading which extended past the hex nut so as to minimize opportunity for a rider to snag either their skin or clothing). For the truly pedantic types, it might be worth pointing out that second edition Simplex cable clips manufactured in 1980 and 1981 also used a machine screw, but said screw was decidedly shorter than earlier versions and the hex nut was integrated into the clip itself as opposed to being a wholly separate item, while post 1981 third edition Simplex brake cable clips used a shorter yet sheet metal screw which threaded directly into the open end of the clip itself to affect closure, absent any hex nut whatsoever.]
