[Peugeot PY-10 CP models made available on a custom order retail basis from 1975 through 1982 came equipped by default with a near bulletproof steel version of the Maillard 700 Course six speed freewheel with an option to (...arguably) upgrade at additional cost to an all alloy Maillard 700 Professional freewheel, also configured having six individual cogs. Six speed versions of these Maillard freewheels incorporate the same respective body as their five speed counterparts, the extra cog being comprised of a duplexed pairing of outer cogs which serve as a threaded lock to retain the remaining four slip fit units as opposed to a singleton threaded outer cog serving that same purpose. In either case, the actual freewheel provisioned on a given PY-10 CP would have necessarily had a thread pitch consistent with its rear hub, which is to say either a standard French metric or optional English / BSA threading as stipulated on its corresponding purchase order. Moreover, those same build sheet specifications asked a prospective buyer to choose the precise cog tooth counts on their freewheel given a range of 13-14, 13-15, or 14-15 for the outer duplexed set, 15 through 20 teeth inclusive for the middle two cogs, and 17 through 28 teeth inclusive for the final pair.]
